This is my entry for a Scholarship Competition in which we were prompted to "frame our futures" in a single image. I made mine the size of a widescreen movie because I want to be a filmmaker. I feel driven to express my voice as a female in an industry in which women's voices are severely underrepresented.
This is kind of like Pre-Raphaelite paintings. I wanted to express my efforts to employ painting as a means of exploring the landscape and trying to understand its unfathomable complexity. I also wanted to express the urge to honor a connection to nature, which is vital to the survival of the human spirit.
There will be a public voting process later on once the finalists are selected.
